Smoot Theatre, Historic theatre in downtown Parkersburg, United States.
The Smoot Theatre features a Neoclassical design with four fluted Ionic columns, brick and terra cotta construction, and a Greek key cornice pattern.
Constructed in 1926 by the Smoot Amusement Company, the venue operated as a vaudeville house until Warner Brothers purchased it in 1930 for movie screenings.
The theatre maintains its original Art Deco interior elements, including burgundy and cream decor, gilt moldings, and functional stage trap doors.
Located at 213 5th Street in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the theatre continues to host theatrical productions, concerts, and community events throughout the year.
Local volunteers saved the building from demolition in 1989, leading to its renovation and current status as a National Register of Historic Places landmark.
