Tomlinson Run State Park, State park in Hancock County, United States

Tomlinson Run State Park is a 1,400-acre recreation and wilderness area in West Virginia's northern panhandle that features two distinct zones. One side holds campgrounds and day-use facilities, while the other preserves unspoiled forest with sandstone ridge formations and hiking trails.

The park was established in 1935 as a recreational preserve in West Virginia's northern panhandle, named after early settlers who first lived in this region. Its creation reflected growing efforts to protect natural areas during the 1930s.

The park maintains recreational spaces where visitors can enjoy traditional outdoor activities while protected forests and wildlife areas remain available for nature study and observation.

The park provides 48 traditional campsites, five camper cabins, and yurts with picnic tables and fire rings at each location. Plan visits based on weather and season, as trails and facilities vary in accessibility depending on conditions.

The park's two halves offer completely different experiences: one side welcomes families with facilities and organized recreation, while the other protects raw wilderness with few trails or services. This division lets visitors choose between comfort and solitude on the same property.
