Van Noord Arena, Indoor sports arena at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, US
Van Noord Arena is a multipurpose building with seating for about 5,000 spectators across a mix of chairs and bleachers for different event types. Inside, the facility features five team locker rooms, two for visiting teams, a fitness classroom, and conference spaces.
The arena opened in 2009 and replaced the older Knollcrest Fieldhouse as the primary sports facility for Calvin University. This renewal represented a major upgrade to the campus sports infrastructure.
The venue hosts college basketball and volleyball games for Calvin University teams and regularly attracts musical performers who take the stage here.
When visiting, be aware that the venue is busier during the school week and may be more accessible on weekends. The facility also offers a special hospitality suite for smaller private gatherings.
The main lobby features an impressive climbing wall offering routes for different skill levels and climbing experience. This unexpected training feature makes the venue much more than just a sports event location.
