West Point Light, Lighthouse at Gee's Point, Orange County, US
The wooden square tower at West Point Light stands with white markings, guiding vessels through the Hudson River near the Military Academy.
West Point Light construction began in 1853, featuring a sixth order Fresnel lens at a focal height of 40 feet above the water level.
The lighthouse represents maritime navigation heritage, documented through souvenir postcards preserved in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
Located 45 miles north of the Battery, the lighthouse ceased operations in 1946 and was replaced by Light 39 on a skeleton tower.
The lighthouse sits at the northeastern end of West Point, with Constitution Island across the river and the Crow's Nest hill nearby.
