Hollywood Theater, Art Deco movie theater in Audubon Park, Minneapolis, United States.
The Hollywood Theater is a Streamline Moderne building in Minneapolis featuring Kasota limestone facades with geometric patterns and horizontal and vertical striping. The venue accommodates 275 guests and includes a stage, modern restrooms, and an outdoor courtyard space.
The building was constructed in 1935 by architects Liebenberg and Kaplan and operated as a cinema until 1987. Following extensive restoration, it reopened as an event venue in 2023.
The interior preserves original Art Deco details with patterned terrazzo floors in black, green, and gold, along with glass light boxes and carved mirrors. These features create a distinctive character that reflects its past as a cinema.
The venue is best visited during daylight hours to fully appreciate the limestone facade and its details. Being close to Audubon Park makes it easy to combine a visit with a walk through the neighborhood.
Seven original film poster frames remain in place throughout the building and can be personalized by event guests with their own messages. These authentic vintage displays connect the cinema's history with contemporary events.
