Liston Stadium

Liston Stadium is a sports facility near Baker University featuring an eight-lane rubber track and FieldTurf infield. The venue holds 4,000 spectators and hosts university football, track and field, soccer, and local high school competitions.

The facility was built in the 1930s with help from 30 students who exchanged their labor for tuition payments. This project provided an important educational opportunity during the Great Depression.

Commemorative plaques on the stadium's stone wall honor 15 Baker University alumni who died during World War I. These inscriptions form an important part of campus remembrance.

The stadium welcomes spectators for various sporting events with 4,000 seats offering good sightlines to the field. Visitors should note clear entry points when arriving and dress appropriately for the weather during outdoor events.

The Kansas City Star recognized the stadium, built by inexperienced student workers, as one of the finest facilities in the Midwest. This recognition was remarkable given that the builders had no professional experience.
