Queen Street Baptist Church

Queen Street Baptist Church is a brick structure with tall Gothic-style pointed windows and a distinctive spire that rises prominently from its main facade. The building was enlarged with an educational wing during the mid-1900s, creating a larger complex for the congregation's needs.

The congregation formed in 1884 when formerly enslaved people established their own place of worship in Norfolk. The Late Gothic Revival building that stands today was constructed in the early 1900s under the direction of architect Rossell Edward Mitchell.
