The rectangular brick church features Gothic pointed arch windows and a prominent spire rising above the main facade at 413 Brambleton Avenue.
The congregation, established in 1884 by Reverend Richard Spiller and former slaves, constructed their Late Gothic Revival building between 1910 and 1911.
The church maintains its position as a center for African American religious life through weekly services, educational programs, and community engagement activities.
Sunday activities include educational sessions starting at 9:00 AM followed by worship services at 10:00 AM, with recorded sermons available on the website.
The educational annex, added in 1952 and expanded in 1957, extends the original structure designed by architect Rossell Edward Mitchell.
