Haynies Corner Arts District

Haynies Corner Arts District is a creative area in downtown Evansville spanning four neighborhoods along the Ohio River. The district encompasses Riverside, Culver, Goosetown, and Blackford's Grove, housing galleries, artist studios, and performance spaces.

The area began as a residential neighborhood and transformed into an artistic hub supporting local artists and creative enterprises. This shift enabled the Vanderburgh County community to develop and showcase its creative energy.

The district houses galleries, studios, and performance venues where visitors encounter artists and view their work directly. Walking tours through the area reveal how local creators have shaped the streets into spaces for exchange and artistic expression.

The area is best explored during warmer months when art exhibitions, live performances, and vendor displays activate the streets. Plan to walk around and allow time to discover the different studios and galleries scattered throughout the neighborhoods.

The district is named after photographer Russell Haynie, connecting his artistic legacy to today's creative community. Each November the neighborhood also hosts a free Thanksgiving celebration open to everyone in the community.
