Bloomer–Dailey House and Balmville Tree, Historic house and landmark tree in Balmville, United States

The Bloomer-Dailey House is a timber frame structure with a central block and clapboard siding, located near a historic tree. Both the house and tree stand on the same property as paired landmarks.

The land was granted in 1684 to a British Naval captain who held substantial property. The Bloomer family later settled there and shaped the site before the region changed significantly.

The Balmville area takes its name from a family long rooted in the region. The house reveals how rural residents built and maintained their homes with practical craftsmanship during this era.

The site sits along a road and is easy to locate. Keep in mind this is private property best viewed from a distance or public areas.

The eastern cottonwood next to the house was planted in 1699 and ranks among the region's oldest trees. The state designated the small forest around it as New York's smallest state forest.
