Bloomer–Dailey House and Balmville Tree
Bloomer–Dailey House and Balmville Tree, Historic house and landmark tree in Balmville, United States
The Bloomer-Dailey House at 83 Balmville Road features a central block with three bays, timber frame construction, and clapboard exterior walls.
The property dates back to 1684 when British Royal Navy Captain John Evans received a land grant from Colonel Benjamin Fletcher, the governor.
The site includes the former location of William Bloomer's blacksmith shop, which operated before the American Revolution near the Balmville Tree.
The house and tree received National Register of Historic Places designation in 2000, making them significant landmarks in Orange County.
The adjacent Balmville Tree, an eastern cottonwood planted in 1699, became New York State's smallest state forest at 31 square meters.
