Abel Brockway House, National Register of Historic Places residence in Saginaw, United States.
The Abel Brockway House on Brockway Street combines Greek Revival features with Colonial Revival wings and a front portico supported by columns. This two-story home displays symmetrical window placement, a gable roof, and traditional clapboard siding throughout.
Built in 1864 by businessman Abel Brockway, the house served as his residence until 1886 when his daughter Mary inherited it. The property then remained under family ownership for many years.
The portico columns came from Dr. Florentine's Hospital for Women, one of the city's earliest medical facilities. This reflects how local builders repurposed materials from older institutions, layering different chapters of the town's past into single buildings.
The house is visible from the street and displays its original architectural details clearly. Visitors can observe the classical proportions and crafted features of the structure from outside.
The property has been featured in paranormal investigations and documentaries including Steven Shippy's film series "Haunted Saginaw" released in 2019. It has become a destination for those interested in both local history and supernatural stories.
