Children's Zoo at Celebration Square, Children's zoo in Saginaw, United States.
The Children's Zoo at Celebration Square is a 10-acre facility in Saginaw featuring walking paths, gardens, and animal habitats with both local and exotic residents. The grounds are designed to let visitors get close to creatures from around the world in comfortable, well-maintained settings.
The zoo began operations in 1967 thanks to donations from the Carl H. Iberschoff estate, which also funded the miniature train called the Iberschoff Special. Major renovations took place in 2008, updating key facilities and exhibits.
The zoo maintains three Species Survival Plans focusing on North American River Otters, African Black-footed penguins, and Cotton-top tamarins.
The zoo operates from May through September with shorter hours in April and October. Visitors can enjoy train rides, a carousel, and educational programs during their visit.
The Wetland Experience section has an underwater viewing tunnel where visitors can watch aquatic animals while crawling through a beaver dam-inspired structure. This design offers an unusual perspective on how water creatures live.
