North Texas Hindu Mandir

The North Texas Hindu Mandir is a Hindu temple in Old Lake Highlands where interior walls display religious figures without pedestals, allowing worshippers to interact directly with the sacred images. Indo-Caribbean Hindu immigrants established the Caribbean Hindu Association of North Texas in 1992, which led to the creation of this temple. The structure was adapted from a former synagogue, reflecting how the building changed purpose to serve a new religious community.

The temple welcomes visitors from all faiths and hosts ceremonies like Sharad Navraatri with Abhishek and Havan rituals throughout the year. These celebrations show how the community keeps its traditions alive while sharing them with the broader neighborhood.

The temple is located on Baronne Circle and includes security features such as surveillance cameras and a perimeter fence for visitor safety. Guests should be aware that these security measures are in place to protect everyone on the grounds.
