The octagonal brick structure rises 125 feet above Green Bay Road, featuring classical elements with tall arches on each of its eight sides.
Constructed between 1929 and 1930 by Coffin, Pearse, Greeley & Hansen, the tower represents the third water infrastructure development in Highland Park.
The tower stands as the highest structure in Highland Park, establishing itself as a central architectural element in the city's architectural heritage.
The water tank within the tower maintains a substantial capacity of 500,000 gallons, serving the water distribution needs of the local community.
The National Register of Historic Places recognized the tower's significance in 1982 as part of the Highland Park Multiple Resource Area.
