The Lake Barkley Bridge extends 3,805 feet in length and includes four traffic lanes plus a dedicated path for cyclists and pedestrians.
The original Henry R. Lawrence Memorial Bridge from 1932 served the area until the construction of the current structure began in February 2015.
The bridge forms a central connection point for residents and visitors accessing the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
The structure incorporates LED lighting systems and safety features, including four-foot offsets on both sides of the medians and external shoulders.
The bridge features a basket-handle tied-arch design, making it one of only twelve such structures worldwide.
