Hockley is a historic residence on the Ware River in Gloucester County, Virginia, sitting on 41 acres of land with a main house built in the 1840s. The property includes agricultural and utility buildings that display a blend of Late Victorian and Greek Revival architectural features.

The property sits on land once inhabited by Native Americans during the Woodland Period and later settled by early colonial peoples. The main house was constructed in the 1840s, while an 18th-century icehouse on the grounds shows how the site has been occupied and used across different periods.

This house was home to Lt. Gen. William H. Tunner, who orchestrated the Berlin Airlift, and his wife Margaret, a Women Airforce Service Pilot. Their residence here connects the property to important moments in aviation history.

The property is located on Ware Neck Road and can be reached by car in the Gloucester County area near the Ware River. The site gained official recognition when it was added to both the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

The grounds contain archaeological remains that reveal continuous habitation spanning hundreds of years across different cultures. These layers of settlement tell the story of Native American presence through to later European occupation.
