Bismarck Tower, Observation tower in Bielefeld, Germany
The steel tower rises 9.5 meters high on the Ebberg mountain, featuring a square base and 42 steps leading to an observation platform.
Built in 1895 through a donation from machine manufacturer Heinrich C. Fricke, the tower received its name Bismarckturm to honor Otto von Bismarck's 80th birthday.
Known locally as 'Iron Anton', this tower represents one of the few steel-constructed Bismarck monuments among the numerous stone towers across Germany.
The observation platform stands at 8 meters high, offering views of the Teutoburg Forest, with clearest visibility directions toward the north and south.
The structure received heritage protection status and underwent complete restoration in 2003, including renewal of its foundation and paint coating.
