Schlosspark Bellevue, Castle park and garden monument in Berlin, Germany

Schlosspark Bellevue is a historic castle park in Berlin that surrounds Schloss Bellevue, the official seat of the German president. The grounds combine wide open lawns, mature trees, ponds with water lilies, gravel paths, and a dedicated area known as the President's Garden with a pergola and flowerbeds.

The park was laid out in the late 18th century as a private garden for Prince Ferdinand of Prussia and was later reshaped in the early 19th century by royal gardeners. It opened to the public in 1844, and was partly restructured after World War II before taking on its current form.

The park surrounds the official residence of the German president and regularly hosts citizen festivals and public events on its open lawns. Sculptures and busts of historical figures are placed along the paths, giving the walk a sense of continuity with the past.

The main entrance is along Bellevueufer, and from there the park's paths are easy to follow on foot. Several bus lines stop nearby, and the Tiergarten area is a short walk away, making it convenient to combine both in one visit.

A bronze memorial in the park honors an unknown soldier from the 1813 liberation war, which was an unusual choice for the era when monuments typically celebrated generals or royalty. The park also once featured a pavilion shaped like an umbrella and small artificial islands in its water features, neither of which survives today.
