Schloss Buchholz, Baroque castle in Waldkirch-Buchholz, Germany.

Schloss Buchholz is a Baroque country house in Waldkirch with two stories, seven structural sections, and a steep gable roof. An ornate Rococo portal with exterior stairs marks the main entrance, and a chapel sits at the eastern section of the building.

The castle was built in 1760 by Franz Anton Bayer von Buchholz and received a chapel on its eastern side in 1767. This founding period marks the rise of a significant country manor during the late Baroque era.

The castle displays ornate stucco ceiling decorations from the 18th century that reflect the artistic taste of the nobility who lived here. These details remain visible today and show visitors the craftsmanship and wealth of that era.

The grounds include a walled park with a garden house and carriage house that are accessible on foot. Visitors should plan for a walk around the estate, pay attention to the exterior stairs at the main entrance, and note the condition of the older outbuildings.

A small garden house from 1767 stands in the walled park and underwent major renovation in the 1950s. This outbuilding shows how historical structures were restored and repurposed for new uses in later decades.
