Copenhagen Harbour Baths

Copenhagen Harbour Baths is located along the Islands Brygge waterfront and features multiple pool sections and diving platforms set directly on the water. The facility combines swimming and leisure in an open water environment within the harbour.

The first harbour bath opened here in 2002 and was later replaced by a larger permanent structure. The project showed how Copenhagen repurposed its port for public use.

The baths serve as a meeting place where locals gather not only to swim but also to spend time together and enjoy the waterfront. It reflects how the city has turned a working harbour into a social space for the community.

The best time to visit is during settled weather, as heavy rain can cause temporary closures for water quality checks. There are changing areas and water access points, but conditions can vary.

The design preserved old harbour elements and integrated them into the swimming areas, reflecting the industrial past of the site. This blend of old infrastructure and modern recreation makes it a distinctive swimming location.
