The Islands Brygge location opened in 2002 as Copenhagen's first harbour bath, followed by a larger permanent structure designed by PLOT in 2003.
The facility transformed Copenhagen's industrial port into a public gathering space where residents participate in water activities throughout summer months.
The main swimming area accommodates 600 visitors and includes five separate pools, with temporary closures occurring after heavy rainfall for water quality maintenance.
The design incorporates elements of industrial maritime architecture, including dry-docks, piers, and boat ramps integrated into the recreational spaces.
