Tejn Mølle, Post mill in Melsted, Gudhjem, Denmark.
Tejn Mølle is a post mill standing on a single central post near the Melstedgaard Agricultural Museum and able to rotate fully with the wind direction. The structure produces animal feed and forms part of the larger museum complex.
The mill was originally built around 1800 in Årsballe and moved to Tejn in 1850. A second relocation took place in 2006 to its current position in Melsted.
This mill comes from the era when Bornholm was known as the mill island, with over 240 wind and water mills shaping the landscape. The structure represents the craft traditions of this productive period in local development.
Visitors can explore the mill as part of the museum grounds and learn about traditional grain processing. Getting there by car is straightforward, as the site is easily accessible from the main road.
The sails of this mill rotate in a counterclockwise direction, differing from the traditional mechanisms of other Danish post mills. This unusual feature makes it a notable exception in regional mill traditions.
