Museum of Dartmoor Life, Local history museum in Okehampton, England
The Museum of Dartmoor Life spans three floors in a Victorian granary building, displaying collections that document 5000 years of regional development.
The museum contains archaeological findings from the Bronze Age period, including artifacts that demonstrate early settlement patterns in the Dartmoor region.
Exhibits include a reconstructed blacksmith forge, mining equipment, and agricultural tools that represent the traditional industries of Dartmoor communities.
The museum operates from Easter to mid-December, Monday through Friday between 10:15 AM and 4:30 PM, with Saturday hours from 10:15 AM to 1 PM.
Two thirteenth-century bells from Okehampton Castle form part of the permanent collection, featuring inscriptions that tell medieval stories.
