Description
The Church of St Nicholas is a Gothic parish church with two aisles, a chancel, a porch, and a western tower crowned by an octagonal spire behind battlemented walls. The building was constructed from red sandstone and today shows a thick coating of lichen across its surfaces.
History
This structure dates back to 1301 and represents a long history of church building in the area. The tower collapsed during a storm in 1792 but was quickly rebuilt with the octagonal spire that stands today.

Inside, a royal coat of arms from the 1680s shows how important this church was to the local community. These works reflect the deep religious traditions that have shaped life in this region.
