Gore Cove, Coastal inlet at Fleet and Langton Herring, England.

Gore Cove is a coastal inlet at Fleet and Langton Herring in England that extends along Chesil Beach. The waters are bordered by sandy shores and pebble beaches shaped by natural coastal processes.

A severe storm in 1824 caused major damage to the nearby East Fleet village, leaving only sections of the original church with family memorials standing. This event shaped the local history and permanently altered this stretch of coastline.

Gore Cove features in John Meade Falkner's 1898 novel Moonfleet, which explores smuggling tales along the Dorset coastline. The place carries these literary associations today and draws visitors curious about the region's past.

Gore Cove sits along the South West Coast Path and connects visitors to multiple walking trails in the area. Access points are available from both Fleet and Langton Herring, making the cove easy to reach.

Behind Chesil Beach lies a lagoon area called The Fleet that supports extensive eelgrass beds and marine habitats. These shallow waters create feeding and breeding grounds for fish and water birds in the region.
