Built between 1832 and 1835, the church replaced a former chapel in stables and received Grade I listed status for its architectural significance.
The church maintains dual functions as both a college chapel for Stonyhurst students and a parish church for the local Catholic community.
Three Sunday services take place at different times, with masses held at 5:30 PM on Saturday and 11:00 AM on Sunday at St Peter's Church.
The building houses historical stenciling from the 1850s beneath layers of whitewash, partially exposed during recent restoration work.
