Westwood Moravian Church

Westwood Moravian Church is a church building in Westwood, Oldham, constructed in 1869. The structure features pinnacled piers framing a gabled entrance bay, with round-headed arches adorning the doors and windows throughout.

The congregation founded in 1865 built this structure three years later when the original chapel could no longer accommodate its growing membership. The building served the community until 2005, when the congregation relocated.

The church maintained strong connections with the Moravian traditions, which originated in the 15th century Czech Republic and emphasized simplicity in worship practices.

The building is easily accessible from the street as it sits within an established residential area. Today it functions as part of a different religious space, so visiting is best arranged in advance.

The building received its first organ in 1873, later replaced in 1903 by a more elaborate George Benson instrument with multiple manuals. This upgrade reflected the congregation's growing musical aspirations for worship services.
