Santa Maria Assunta

Santa Maria Assunta is a 15th century church in Montecassiano with a single sloping facade attached to a bell tower. The interior holds three naves covered by cross vaults, featuring a white stone rose window and bronze doors at the entrance.

The current structure was built in the 15th century, replacing an earlier religious building that had incorporated remains from an ancient temple dedicated to Venus. This layering of periods shows how the site held religious importance across many centuries.
