Children's Nature Park

Children's Nature Park is an urban park spanning roughly 48 hectares with designated play areas, outdoor activity centers, and sports facilities for the community. The grounds also include community rice paddies, a large pond, and sections with natural vegetation.

The park's large pond served as a water supply source during the Edo period, supporting the needs of Futumatagawa and shaping regional water management practices. This historical role established it as an essential component of local infrastructure.

The park serves as a habitat for Genji-fireflies, a protected species that visitors may observe during warmer months when they are most active. This commitment to maintaining natural conditions reflects the community's dedication to wildlife conservation in an urban setting.

The park is conveniently accessible from Futumatagawa Station on the Sotetsu Line via a short walk or direct bus service. Visitors will find that the best times to visit depend on which activities interest them, as seasonal programs vary throughout the year.

The grounds contain about 200 plum trees across 30 different varieties alongside 1000 cherry trees that bloom at different times. This diverse collection creates an ever-changing botanical display spanning from winter into spring.
