Holborn Town Hall and Library
Holborn Town Hall and Library, Town hall and library building in Holborn, London, England
This Grade II building at High Holborn features a Portland stone facade with Corinthian pilasters, arched entrances, and oriel windows on upper floors.
Architect William Rushworth designed the structure in French Renaissance style, which opened as a public library in 1894 and expanded into a town hall by 1908.
The First International Syndicalist Congress of 1913 gathered labor representatives from multiple countries within the halls of this municipal building.
The structure contains 25,000 square feet of office space with fiber-optic broadband, located near Holborn and Tottenham Court Road underground stations.
The central section displays a wrought-iron balcony crafted by the Bromsgrove Guild of Applied Arts, featuring the borough coat of arms.
