Snugburys, Ice cream manufacturer in Hurleston, Nantwich, Cheshire, England.
Description
Snugburys is an ice cream manufacturer at Park Farm near the Llangollen Canal in Hurleston, producing over 35 different flavors from a converted dairy farm building. The operation also runs a second location on the river in Chester.
History
The company was founded in 1986 by Chris and Cheryl Sadler, starting as a dairy operation that transformed into ice cream production. Their daughters took over management in 2016 and continue running the business.
Culture
The farm displays impressive steel-reinforced straw sculptures, including a record-breaking Dalek figure, which draw visitors and support charitable purposes. These creative installations form part of the site's identity and make it notable beyond its ice cream production.
Practical
The main location operates from 10 AM to 6 PM during warmer months and 10 AM to 5 PM in winter. Visitors can explore the farm, watch production processes, and taste flavors at the on-site ice cream bar.
Did you know?
Since 1998, the farm has commissioned changing straw sculptures each year, with each design offering fresh surprises throughout the seasons. These creations often draw inspiration from film and pop culture, providing photo opportunities that have become known beyond the local region.
