The ITU Mustafa İnan Library is an academic library on the Istanbul Technical University campus in Sarıyer, housing extensive printed and digital collections. The building, constructed between 1997 and 2007, features organized sections for different fields, special collections of rare works, and modern automation systems for managing resources.
The library traces its origins to a military maritime school founded in 1797 and expanded over centuries through acquired collections. It was rebuilt in its current form between 1997 and 2007, becoming a major center for scientific and technical knowledge.
The library is named after Mustafa İnan, a prominent engineer and former rector of the university, linking it to Turkish engineering history. This naming reflects the institution's role as a center for scientific and technical knowledge within the academic community.
The library is open around the clock and centrally located on the university campus with clear signage. It offers internet access, copying services, and printing facilities, making it straightforward to research materials and prepare documents.
The library was the first in Turkey to introduce an automated book checkout system, allowing visitors to borrow and return materials quickly without staff assistance. The building also features a sculpture of Hezarfen Ahmet Çelebi, a historical figure known as an early aviation pioneer.
