Uferhallen

Uferhallen is a large building complex along the Panke River in the Gesundbrunnen district that houses artist studios, event venues, dance studios, and exhibition spaces. The site also offers workshops, restaurants, and other publicly accessible facilities for visitors.

The site was once the operational grounds of a Berlin transport company before being transformed into an artistic and cultural space in the early 2000s. The transformation created a new location for art production in North Berlin.

Artists from different disciplines use the spaces daily for their work, creating a living center for artistic production. The place attracts people interested in contemporary art and creative practice.

Access to the site is possible without advance notice, allowing you to freely explore the various rooms and outdoor areas. Visit during daytime hours when most studios are active and exhibitions are open.

Artists on site are partly owners of the grounds, holding shares in the project and thus having rare influence over how the place is used and developed. This ownership model allows artists to secure their workspaces long-term.
