Château de Mirabeau

Château de Mirabeau is a castle with origins in the 18th century, featuring symmetrical wings extending from a central building. The structure sits on a stone foundation with classical architectural elements and large windows across its facade.

The De Glandeves family built the castle in the early 18th century on the site of an older structure called Bastide Blanche. This construction marked a new chapter for authority and life in the region.

The chapel holds a bell from 1710 that rang for religious ceremonies and family celebrations over the centuries. The rooms show how the local nobility gathered here for important social occasions and daily life.

The castle is only accessible through pre-arranged guided tours, so visitors should plan ahead. Access to the grounds and interior spaces requires scheduling in advance with those managing the site.

The entrance door bears visible marks from 1792 when local residents forcibly entered during a period of political upheaval. An ice house also stands in the northern wing, a rare structure from the time before modern refrigeration.
