Masonic Hall, Masonic temple in Hope Street, Liverpool, England
Masonic Hall is a masonic temple on Hope Street in Liverpool with multiple ornate lodge meeting rooms throughout its interior. The spaces feature Egyptian, Roman, and Adams period architectural designs with decorative details.
The building began in 1857 as the House in the Garden and underwent major expansions in the 1870s and 1932. These extensions reflected the growing needs of the membership over several decades.
The Egyptian Room displays banners of the twelve tribes of Israel and serves the Royal Arch masons with its symbolic decorations. The space reflects the imagery and language that guide the rituals practiced within this lodge.
The building has a ground-floor bar with street views and several dining rooms with a large kitchen. Upper levels offer rental office spaces and are easily reached by lifts and stairs.
A metal cage lift and a corridor lined with historic Masonic banners lead to a memorial for 190 masons who died in World War I. This commemorative space honors members lost during a major conflict.
