The Grampians

The Grampians is an Art Deco apartment building in Shepherd's Bush, London, built between 1935 and 1937. The structure features red-brown brick walls with Portland stone details, curved two-story shop fronts, and a stepped roofline that runs along Shepherd's Bush Road.

Architect Maurice Webb designed this apartment complex during a period when London was modernizing its residential architecture. The site previously sat on the former railway line that once connected Kensington to Richmond.

The building reflects the architectural tastes of London's interwar era, showing how wealthy residents of that time chose to live in this part of the city.

The building was completed in 1937 and is Grade II listed, which means the exterior is protected and cannot be easily altered. The apartments are private residences, so public access to the interior is not available.

The main entrance showcases a double-height rusticated archway with stylized keystones, blending classical tradition with modern design of the period. The lobby beyond it provides a glimpse into how luxury apartment living was organized during the 1930s.
