Shepherd’s Bush Pavilion, Grade II listed hotel in Shepherd's Bush, United Kingdom
The Shepherd's Bush Pavilion is a Grade II listed Edwardian building in London with a preserved brick facade and a modern glazed roof that keeps the curved lines of the original structure. It houses a hotel with around 320 rooms, a cinema, a bingo hall, shops, and leisure facilities all within the same building.
Frank Verity designed this building in 1923 as a cinema and it won the RIBA London Street Architecture Award for its front facade. It was later transformed into a hotel while keeping the original building structure intact.
The interior displays curved vaults with Art Deco touches in the entrance area, reflecting its past as a cinema. These design elements remain visible today and speak to how the building has changed over time.
The building sits close to public transportation and is easy to reach, with shopping areas and leisure facilities nearby. Visitors can explore the different sections like the cinema or bingo hall and get around the surrounding neighborhood easily.
The building contains an original triumphal arch and circular floor decorations that date back to its cinema days. These architectural features remain visible today and show how carefully historical details were kept when the space was transformed.
