Television Centre, Broadcasting complex in White City, London, United Kingdom.
Television Centre is a circular building with eight floors in White City, west London. The studios and production spaces spread across wings extending from the central round core.
The BBC used this building from 1960 as the base for television production, creating programmes for British audiences. After 2013, the corporation moved its operations to Broadcasting House in the city centre.
Three working studios remain under BBC Studioworks management, continuing to host recordings for different British broadcasters. The rest of the complex now contains apartments and office spaces where production crews once worked.
The Central Line brings visitors to White City station, which sits next to the complex. The Circle Line stops at Wood Lane a short walk from the entrance.
The layout comes from a sketch that architect Graham Dawbarn drew on an envelope. The question mark he scribbled became the circular design with extending arms.
