Burrows Court

Burrows Court is a residential tower with 21 floors and 130 units built from precast concrete aggregate. The building has shaped Nottingham's skyline and demonstrates how British social housing evolved over decades.

Built in the 1970s as a social housing project to provide modern homes for workers, the building faced structural challenges over time. A gas incident in 1984 damaged several floors and highlighted the difficulties large residential complexes encountered.

The structure represents the evolution of social housing in British cities, transitioning from council housing to private development over several decades.

The area is well served by public transport, making access straightforward. Daytime visits offer the best views of the structure from street level and allow you to see the surrounding neighborhood clearly.

After closing as standard residential housing in 2005, the tower later became temporary accommodation, showing how buildings adapt to new needs. This shift reflects broader social changes and evolving demands on urban infrastructure.
