Royal Marine Hotel, Category B listed building in Hunters Quay, Scotland.
Royal Marine Hotel is a Category B listed building located at Hunters Quay in Scotland. The structure contains three floors with 41 rooms split between the main building and an adjacent lodge at 251 Marine Parade.
The hotel was built in 1890 following the destruction of the original 1856 Marine Hotel by fire. It enjoyed royal patronage and housed the Royal Clyde Yacht Club until 1950.
The building reflects Victorian design preferences of its time through various details. A vintage post box bearing Queen Victoria's monogram and crown remains as evidence of this era.
The building includes a restaurant called Kintyre Bar and Restaurant as well as two bars, one being Ghillies Bar. Its position near the Western Ferries pier makes it convenient for ferry passengers.
A small telegraph office built in 1888 was originally designed to receive yacht race results. Today it operates as a coffee shop within the hotel.
