Constructed in 1890 after the original 1856 Marine Hotel burned down, the building received royal patronage and housed the Royal Clyde Yacht Club until 1950.
The Victorian building incorporates architectural elements from its era, including a vintage post box with Queen Victoria's VR insignia and crown.
The property contains one restaurant called Kintyre Bar and Restaurant, two bars including Ghillies Bar, and stands near Western Ferries pier.
A small telegraph office built in 1888 for receiving yacht race results functions now as a coffee shop within the hotel structure.
