Liberty Grip, Bronze sculpture at Greenwich Peninsula, England
Liberty Grip is a bronze sculpture on Greenwich Peninsula made up of three sections modeled after mannequin arms. The work stands 553 centimeters tall and features distinctive pink-patinated finishes at the ends of each section.
The artwork became part of The Line sculpture trail in 2014, selected from over 70 submissions in the project's opening year. This selection represented a significant moment in developing Greenwich's contemporary art landscape.
The sculpture stands along the Thames Path near The O2, contributing to the growing collection of contemporary public artworks in Greenwich.
The sculpture is accessible via Olympian Way on the east side of Greenwich Peninsula, reachable from North Greenwich station. The location sits directly along an established riverside footpath where pedestrians naturally walk.
The three arm sections create visual contrast between their industrial bronze surfaces and the subtle pink-patinated ends. This interplay of rough material and refined color treatment creates an engaging quality that shifts as visitors walk around the work from different angles.
