Doctor Who Experience

Doctor Who Experience was an exhibition in Cardiff Bay that displayed original props, costumes, and objects from decades of the British science fiction television series. Visitors could walk through recreated sets and follow how the design and staging evolved across different eras of the show.

The exhibition opened in 2012 after moving from London and occupied a site near the BBC production studio in Cardiff. It operated for about five years before closing.

The place reflected the strong connection between the television series and its home city, as many episodes were filmed in Cardiff. Visitors could feel how the exhibition and the nearby filming studios were part of the same creative world.

The site was located near the actual studios where the series was filmed, making it easy to visit both places on the same trip. The best time to visit was during school holidays, when more activities and events were offered.

The building stood right next to BBC Roath Lock Studio, where current episodes of the series were being filmed while the exhibition was operating. Visitors could often spot signs of active production happening nearby.
