Domaine skiable des Contamines, Ski area in Les Contamines-Montjoie, France
The ski domain of the Contamines stretches across slopes between 1200 and 2500 meters elevation with about 50 runs for different skill levels. The terrain offers a mix of wide beginner slopes and challenging mountain descents with varying lengths and difficulty grades.
The first ski facilities were built in the early 1900s and have since become a key part of the Evasion Mont-Blanc network. The resort grew from a local mountain settlement into a modern winter sports destination serving visitors across the region.
The resort maintains strong Alpine traditions, with local restaurants serving regional Savoyard dishes and mountain customs visible throughout the seasons. Visitors experience the hospitality of the mountain community through authentic food and local practices.
Access to the slopes is provided by about 25 modern lift installations distributed across different areas. Equipment rental and ticket sales are available at multiple locations, making it easy to plan your day on the mountain.
From many slopes, you have direct views of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps. The clearest views often appear in the morning when mountain air is crisp and the snow-covered summit stands out distinctly.
