Quebrada de los Cóndores, Protected natural area in La Rioja Province, Argentina.

Quebrada de los Cóndores is a protected area spanning about 800 hectares in La Rioja Province, characterized by steep granite ravines and flat plateaus covered with grassland. The region lies near the Sierra de los Quinteros and forms a connected landscape with varied terrain.

The area was established as an ecological reserve by La Rioja's Provincial Government in May 2005 through Law 7849. This decision recognized the region's value for conservation and protection of its natural systems.

The place takes its name from the large birds of prey that have inhabited these cliffs for generations and define the character of the ravine. Visitors can watch these birds soar above the rock formations, shaping how people experience the landscape.

Access starts from La Rioja city via Provincial Route 26 toward the Tama district, where Santa Cruz de la Sierra serves as the entry point. Come prepared with supplies and sturdy footwear, as the terrain is uneven and rocky throughout.

The area is home to around 150 Andean condors that nest along the steep cliff faces and dominate the skies above. These large birds are regularly spotted soaring through the ravine and represent one of the area's defining features.
