Hossegor central beach, Sandy beach in Soorts-Hossegor, France

The central beach extends along three kilometers of Atlantic coastline with fine sand and regular wave patterns forming near the shoreline.

The transformation of Hossegor from a small fishing village to a beach destination began in the 1920s when architects developed the first seaside villas.

The beach holds international surfing championships each October, attracting professional athletes and spectators from across the globe to witness high-performance competitions.

Lifeguards monitor the beach from June through September, with extended hours in July and August, ensuring safety for swimmers between designated flag zones.

The beach features specific sand formations that create hollow waves breaking directly on the shore, producing excellent conditions for advanced surfing techniques.
