Plage du Penon

Penon Beach is a surfing beach along the Atlantic coast where sand stretches between residential areas and commercial establishments, connected by a wooden walkway. The area includes restrooms, lifeguard supervision, and parking spaces for both cars and bicycles.

The beach was developed in the 1970s when Seignosse transformed from a rural community into a seaside resort. This change brought the infrastructure needed for visitors and shaped the region's growth for decades to come.

Surfing schools shape the beach culture, especially during warmer months when beginners and experienced riders explore the waves. The sport is deeply rooted here and influences how the place functions throughout the year.

Lifeguard supervision operates daily, especially during summer months when more visitors arrive. It is advisable to arrive early in the morning to find a good spot, as the beach becomes crowded on good weather days.

An elevated wooden pathway called La Balade sur la Dune stretches about 130 meters along the beach and offers surprising views into the distance. On clear days, visitors can spot the Pyrenees mountains on the horizon from this walkway.
