Silver Lake Sand Dunes

Silver Lake Sand Dunes is a dune landscape along Lake Michigan, stretching across thousands of acres between two coastal towns. The area shows impressive sand formations shaped over thousands of years by wind and water.

The construction of Little Sable Point Lighthouse in 1874 marked the start of organized navigation and settlement along this coastline. This period also led to the early development of tourism around the dunes.
