Jardin des plantes de Saint-Etienne

The Jardin des Plantes is a botanical garden and park set on the Villeboeuf hill, covering roughly ten hectares with numerous rare tree species throughout. The grounds feature wide pathways, varying elevation levels, and open viewpoints where you can see across the city below.

The grounds were established in the 19th century to improve air quality during the city's mining activity period. This creation reflected the effort to counteract the effects of industrial work through green spaces.
