Grande roue d'Agde, ferris wheel in Agde, France
The Grande roue d'Agde is a 60-meter Ferris wheel located on the harbor promenade at Cap d'Agde resort. It features 36 passenger cabins and rotates slowly to allow visitors to take in views of the coastline, beaches, port, and city throughout the entire rotation.
The Ferris wheel was installed in 2018 and became France's tallest operating Ferris wheel at that time. Its establishment marked a turning point for the Cap d'Agde resort, transforming it into a major tourist destination with a signature vertical attraction.
The Ferris wheel serves as a landmark for the seaside resort and helps visitors identify the harbor area. It has become a gathering point where people from all backgrounds come together to share the experience of viewing the coast from above.
The Ferris wheel is easy to locate on the main harbor promenade and accessible from nearby parking areas. It operates primarily during summer months from June to September, with extended hours starting in the morning and continuing late into the night, allowing flexible timing for your visit.
On clear days, you can see mountains in the distance beyond the coastline from the top of the wheel. The nighttime illumination of the structure changes colors periodically, creating an ever-shifting visual landmark that photographs differently with each light setting.
