Ramoji Film City

Ramoji Film City is a film studio and theme park in Ranga Reddy district covering roughly 2,000 acres with numerous movie sets, gardens, and entertainment areas. The complex contains replicated streets, artificial lakes, outdoor backdrops for different eras, and several indoor studios for enclosed filming.

Media producer Ramoji Rao opened this film city in 1996 to offer Indian filmmakers a central production facility. Since then, the site has become an important location for shooting films in several regional languages.

Film crews from across India use the different sets for productions in several regional languages, while visitors join guided tours that show how scenes are typically shot. Families from all over the country come here to walk through sets from popular movies and experience what it feels like to stand inside a film scene.

The site offers daily tours in several languages and has restaurants serving regional food along with accommodation options on the premises. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes because distances between areas can be long, and plan enough time to explore the grounds.

The complex holds a world record as the largest integrated film city and can host 20 international production teams at the same time. Some outdoor sets were designed to represent different geographic regions depending on lighting conditions, allowing filmmakers to capture multiple locations in one place.
