Domaine de Primard, Gastronomic estate in Guainville, France.
Domaine de Primard is a hotel and dining complex on a 30-hectare estate along the Eure River, centered around an 18th-century manor with formal gardens and farm buildings. Accommodations span four buildings with 40 rooms, plus a Susanne Kaufmann spa, heated swimming pool, and sports facilities.
The property began as Catherine Deneuve's private residence before hoteliers Guillaume Foucher and Frédéric Biousse transformed it into a luxury hotel. The renovations preserved the original architectural character while adapting the space for modern hospitality.
The estate is shaped by Chef Eric Frechon's culinary vision across three dining spaces: the upscale Eglantine, the casual Octave, and the communal La Table d'Hôte. Visitors can experience how each venue reflects different approaches to food, from refined to relaxed.
The property sits about one hour from Paris and is accessible by car. The site spreads across multiple buildings, so allow time to explore the grounds and different dining options.
The grounds were designed by landscape architect Jacques Wirtz and feature over 250 rose varieties alongside extensive boxwood hedges. Beyond these formal sections, natural meadows and water features create a varied landscape that shifts between structured and wild.
