Hopdoddy Burger Bar
Hopdoddy Burger Bar is an American restaurant in Hillsboro Village, south of Vanderbilt University, serving handcrafted burgers made with fresh ingredients and in-house baked buns. The interior has a central bar, exposed brick walls, bright furniture, and booths, while the covered outdoor patio features picnic tables, string lights, and garage doors that open to the weather.
The restaurant opened in October 2017 in a building that previously housed Bosco's restaurant. The Hopdoddy chain started in Austin, Texas, and expanded to almost twenty locations across the country, with Nashville being the first location in Tennessee.
The name Hopdoddy connects beer and burgers, reflecting what this place is about. Local students and residents gather here to eat and socialize in a relaxed setting with bright green chairs and concert poster art on the walls.
The restaurant is close to Centennial Park and the Belcourt Theatre, making it easy to walk around the area before or after eating. Street parking in front is limited, but a parking lot is available just around the corner on Belcourt Avenue.
The restaurant was named after an Austin tradition linking beer and burgers, and owner Jeff Chandler saw Nashville as equally dynamic as Austin and ideal for this location. The place was named one of the best burger restaurants in America by Business Insider two years running.
